More info on I Could Never Be Your Woman

Thanks to the message board for I Could Never Be Your Woman at the Internet Movie Database, I've found some new links to information about the film. Of special interest are the synopsis and casting pages, where we learn that Tracey's Mother Nature is going to have a New York accent.

The movie's already out in some countries; it's still scheduled for June 15 here in the US.

Another podcast

This week, Tracey is scheduled to appear on another broadcast/podcast. She'll be the guest of Mo Gaffney and Shana Wride on Women Aloud, appearing as part of the series "Funny Women We Love." She's scheduled to appear on Thursday, April 19, but schedules are always subject to change. Others being profiled include Rita Rudner, Kathy Najimy, Jennifer Saunders and Lily Tomlin.

Coming Back To TV

Here is some welcome news: Variety.com is reporting that Tracey is working on a new series that will start production in the fall, most likely for airing in the winter or spring of 2008. In a switch, though, it will be airing on Showtime, ending a long, 14-year association with HBO.

The series, tentatively called "State of the Union", offers "a satirical look at a day in the life of America", featuring new characters and impersonations of famous (infamous?) people. Quoting from the story: "According to Showtime, a typical seg could include Arianna Huffington in her Los Angeles boudoir, David Beckham and wife Victoria with the L.A. Galaxy or Nancy Pelosi at her D.C. dermatologist. The same seg might then check in with seniors crossing the border to Canada in search of cheaper prescription meds."

I am already looking forward to it. And now I have a reason to keep my subscription to Showtime (that and The Tudors).

It was twenty years ago today....

... well, almost. On Thursday, April 5, it will be twenty years to the day that The Tracey Ullman Show first aired on the Fox network as one of the first two prime-time programs on the network. It and Married With Children each aired three times that night -- and did anyone watch all three airings? I think I did.... It seems hard to believe that it was that long ago, but it's true. It seems like yesterday that we were looking forward to seeing new sketches featuring Francesca, Kay (first version), Ginny Tillman and the Downeys.

Also hard to believe: Tracey's daughter Mabel just turned 21.
