Coming Back To TV

Here is some welcome news: Variety.com is reporting that Tracey is working on a new series that will start production in the fall, most likely for airing in the winter or spring of 2008. In a switch, though, it will be airing on Showtime, ending a long, 14-year association with HBO.

The series, tentatively called "State of the Union", offers "a satirical look at a day in the life of America", featuring new characters and impersonations of famous (infamous?) people. Quoting from the story: "According to Showtime, a typical seg could include Arianna Huffington in her Los Angeles boudoir, David Beckham and wife Victoria with the L.A. Galaxy or Nancy Pelosi at her D.C. dermatologist. The same seg might then check in with seniors crossing the border to Canada in search of cheaper prescription meds."

I am already looking forward to it. And now I have a reason to keep my subscription to Showtime (that and The Tudors).
